Faux “Coffee Beer”

Nothing earth-shattering here. Just a lil drive-by post.

I have a couple of recipes for “coffee beers” based on porters and stouts (one with coffee added during the brewing, another with cracked coffee beans added at a different point in the brew cycle), but haven’t tried ‘em out yet. So, in the interest of some preliminary exploration of a combination of two of my favorite things, for lunch (cheese sandwich and beer), I put a 2oz “shot” of cold coffee in a 6oz espresso cup and added 4oz of Groelsch.

Not bad, Really not bad at all.

Yep. I think I’ll try one of those recipes. Real. Soon. Now.

:-)

You didn’t tell me you were a drunk! I used to have some recipes that would blow your mind, but that was over 20 years ago…lol.

*heh* “Drunk.” Funny. :-)

Actually, I can recall the time I got drunk, back in grad school. Didn’t like it. Fortunately, in my “old age,” I’ve discovered moderation and beer do go hand in hand… for me, and found the other nearly perfect food, beer. (What’s the other-other nearly perfect food? Coffee, of course. Ice cream runs a distant third. ;-) )

Putting two nearly perfect foods in one makes one nearly nearly perfect food. If I made coffee beer ice cream, though…
